Remembering James Galvin

In Memory of James J. Galvin

J.J. Galvin Electric was founded by James Galvin in 1985. He passed away from Colon Cancer after fighting this courageous battle for six years. He was diagnosed at age 45 and fought the battle at Mass General receiving chemotherapy every two weeks with very few breaks. He would spend 2-3 hours for treatment on Wednesdays and race back to Galvin Electric.

As a Newton native, he was dedicated to all of his customers to provide them with the best quality of electrical work in Newton, and surrounding towns, including Cape Cod. His customers were more than clients; they were friends.

Following Jimmy’s passing in 2008, Peggy Galvin took over the company, overseeing daily operations until her son Sean graduated from high school. Together, Peggy and Sean have continued the Galvin Electric legacy together for over 15 years.

We still service numerous of Jimmy’s loyal customers and although our operations look different our company mission has stayed the same. Jimmy’s son, Sean, has been in the electrical trade nearly his entire life. He grew up around the trade, spending summers working with his father. Today, Sean manages the company’s daily operations along with his wife. They have three young children who can be found in the office or on a job site during school vacations.

We deeply appreciate the loyalty of our long-standing customers and the trust of those who are new to J.J. Galvin Electrical, whether for residential or commercial needs. Your support means everything to us.
