In Memory of James J. Galvin
On March 9, 2008 my husband Jim passed away from Colon Cancer after fighting
this courageous battle for six years. He was diagnosed at age 45 and fought
the battle at Mass General receiving chemotherapy every two weeks with
very few breaks. He would spend 2-3 hours for treatment on Wednesdays
and race back to Galvin Electric, a company that he founded in 1982. He
was the Owner, the President, and the rock of J.J. Galvin Electrical.
He was dedicated to all of his customers to provide them with the best
quality of electrical work in Newton, and surrounding towns, including
Cape Cod. His customers were not only customers, they were his friends.
Most of all, they completely trusted him.
I cannot even begin to tell you how strong his customers felt about him
- "a prince of a man" one customer said to me. I knew what kind
of husband, father, son, and brother he was, but I truly never understood
how all of his customers felt about him until I took over the business
after Jimmy's death. Jimmy was funny, smart, and tough. He had a heart
of gold. At Mass General he was known as the "Mayor of Mass General."
He kept the doctors and nurses laughing with his outstanding humor. He
always said you had to laugh at a tough situation.
J.J Galvin Electrical is truly a family owned business. My family and I
are dedicated to carrying on his legacy at J.J Galvin Electrical. Our
customers are #1. It has been six years since Jimmy's passing, and
I am so proud to say that we have been successful in carrying on Jimmy's
legacy at J.J Galvin Electrical. We are so grateful to all of our customers
that have stood by us for all the years and to our new customers that
have trusted J.J Galvin Electrical to provide them with the best in electrical
work in both residential and commercial. I am forever grateful to you.
